April Newsletter and Power Update

Happy spring everyone!

We do have some updates about the power upgrade.  SaskPower will be coming to work at Poplar Beach during the week of April 24th. They expect to take about 6 – 7 days to finish the job. Madden will be there to follow them in. They are asking that NO ONE enter the campground during this time. This is a safety issue for everyone involved. Please do not let your curiosity take over. We need them to get this job done ASAP so we can use the campground. Once they are done, we will let you know when it’s safe to enter the park. Their goal is to be finished by May 1st.

Our Park Manager, John and his wife Diane, will be starting to work on May 8th. During their first week, they will be very busy making sure the campground is in order.  Ian will also be there once SaskPower is done to make sure the roads are useable. We need to make sure the roads are not too soft due to all the digging, settling and melting; so only light traffic will be allowed until further notice.

If everything goes as planned, May 15th will be the official opening of the park.  Please DO NOT expect the water to be running on the 15th.  Water is also determined by the weather and the frost layer  - so when it is running, everyone will be informed in an Eblast. The goal is to have the water ready for the May long weekend.  Also, no generators are allowed in the park.

So remember, until the work on the power is done, please stay away. The campground is still a construction site and everyone needs to stay out.
