May Newsletter and Power Update

Important News:

SaskPower is working hard at the campground and should be done by next week. This means that Madden is closing in behind them and expects to be finished what they can too. As the end nears, the contractors are working hard to finish the last of their jobs. This will mean that there are some open trenches. We are reminding you again that the park is a work zone and there is to be no entry until further notice. This is for your safety and to insure no delays.

Our Park Managers will be hoping to start next week and will be busy working on getting the water lines hooked up. Due to all the unknowns, it is hard to say how many repairs or fixes might be needed. The goal is to have water for the May long weekend. The shower house will be operational for sure.

The roads into the campground are also a challenge. Hopefully by the long weekend they will be dry enough to drive on. We are asking that only light traffic be on the roads until they have been repaired and had time to settle and dry.

If everything goes as planned, the gate will officially open on Monday, May 15th. If anything changes, we will let you know.

The Boat Yard form is now complete. The new map will be posted on the compound gate as well as our website by May long weekend. There have been a few changes, so please make sure you look to see what spot your boat should be parked in. If someone is in your new spot, please give people time to move their boats. If you notice that your name has been missed, please email the board ASAP so we can fix it. If you have any other issues with the boat compound, please let the board know as well.

This year we have 2 campsites open for rental, Site 106A and Site 106B.  Site 106A is an annual rental site. If you know anyone who might be interested in renting either spot, please email or contact a board member and we can help.

There is currently a fire ban according to the RM of Hoodoo. So please remember no open fires unless the ban has been lifted. We will keep you informed with any updates.

We look forward to another great season at Poplar Beach. There may be a few glitches this year, so please remember to be kind to everyone as we deal with things. See everyone soon!
